  Africa is endowed with various groups of birds which with no doubt can be seen in Uganda.. Among the many species, the se are commonly seen in parks, forests among others in Uganda:

The common Ostrich (Struthio camelus) in kidepo and the far northeast, African darter (Anhinga rufa) referred to as the snake bird after its habits of swimming low and elongated rufous neck, Goliath heron(Ardea goliath), Marabou stork (leptoptilos crumeniferus), Flamingos (phonicopterus spp), secretary bird (sagitarius serpentarius) unique grey snake eating raptor, African fish eagle ( Haliaeetus vocifer), Grey crowned crane (Balearica regulorum) Uganda’s national bird, widely referred to as the crested crane, to mention but a few.
